Fuel pump replacement

Postby carlrain » Sat Jun 22, 2019 7:43 pm

Any advice on replacement of Mark 6 2ltr fwd fuel pump would be welcome.
I think I can do the strip down and rebuild part and am a little bit worried about the new pump having to be coded.
I assume that it'd not possible to simply put another pump from another van as it is coded somehow to the van. Any advice would be great.

Brand new or properly reconditioned ones code themselves.

2nd ones need access to diagnostic gear and incodes.
Pretty easy if you’ve done it before.

If the pump wasn't virginised.

You need ELM327 cable with modified switch, download FORSCAN and get extended licence. If the incode and outcode process doesn't work, you could choose the TIME method.
