2.2 fwd euro 5 2013 (125) won't start

Postby Aquiesce » Wed Jun 26, 2019 9:03 am

I seem to have a fuel issue, just bought this van with problems cheap, ordered can bus switched cable for forscan, read the codes, sorted all those things, fitted new turbo, feed and return pipes all genuine, took off the egr and cleaned it so its like new, fresh oil, filter, fuel filter and come to start it, it fired for about 3 or 4 seconds then cut out.
I notice that the fuel supply pipe from filter where it sort of has that quick release bayonet fitting on top of pump is somewhat loose and I think its leaking there.... Is it likely to be the spigot that's knackered on the pump, or is the supply line prone to fouling an oring inside or something? My front battery is dead now from messing with other bits on the van whilst working on it so I've got that trickle charging now as I'm sure it needs that to power all the important electronics.
My rear battery was showing 12.9v so cranking ok but don't had 8.4v
Cheers guys

Sorry, just like to add also... If the spigot on the fuel pump is damaged is that something that can be repaired or is it a whole new pump job?
Thanks again

Thought I'd show a picture, it's the line with the shchrader valve on, the spigot that goes on to I'm thinking it's damaged.

I've tried messing again and since charging battery and trying to crank it, I'm getting low fuel pressure on fuel rail error, defintely doesn't seat right on that supply line, I also remember there being small aluminium filings or swarf in the filter canister when I changed it, so I'm going with a goosed fuel pump... I've found one for sale cheap that looks identical but it's from a rwd, part number is same but starts bk3q and mine starts bk2q would this matter at all?

Was it running ok before you did the service & filters etc...??? Did you fill the fuel filter with fresh fuel before refitting..?? If not you may have introduced air into the system, hence why she only ran for a few seconds...Just thinking out loud.

Fitted new pump today, well second hand but from a known good running vehicle prior to accident, fired up pretty much straight away, runs every so slightly rough between 1000-1500rpm then clears up, are there any specific things I need to do after fitting new pump, I've re learned the injector values or whatever your call it, and I've reset any maf, ait sensors etc, didn't seem to do too much.
Thanks
