Mk7 passenger airbag plug

Postby arrolman » Sun Jun 30, 2019 12:34 pm

Hi,

Can anyone point me to where the passenger airbag is plugged in behind the dash? Cant see any yellow plugs anywhere? Need to disable it and fit a resistor.

Cheers,
Iain

I'll be using a child seat in the van and cant have airbag on, no on/off switch on the mk7 so need to unplug it and put resistor in to put airbag light off

Does yours have an airbag?
If so,
You can get to the back of it via the dash top tray, take out the screws at the front poke a decent sized screwdriver in each corner from the front and prize the spring clips up out the dash, grab the lid and yank upward to get the back clips out.

How did you get on with this? I tried to follow these instructions but still couldn't find the plug! I also need to disable it for a baby seat. Thanks!

Hi songatron,

Only solution I could find was to pull the plug as described above, then reconnect for MOT. As soon as he was forward facing in his car seat I reconnected it
