Trip zeros at 2K miles.

Postby Jim Archer » Mon Aug 19, 2019 10:04 am

Any ideas why my trip counter has started resetting at 2000miles?

It's only started doing this since the issue that turned out to be the reluctor ring on the flywheel coming loose. The ECU and BCM were sent away for checking, and I've done some learns and switched a few things off/on with IDS since - front fogs, heated mirrors, changed the locking regime, set tyre size and rolling radius to stop speedo under reading, etc. I can't see anything obvious that affects the trip setting.

Interesting that there was a fix/update.

Wonder why mine has now started to do it - is it possible the ECU checkers have loaded a obsolete file into the BCM(?), might explain why my intermittent wiper setting is playing up as well since I got it back.

Battery is all good, and have watched it zero itself twice now.

Won't harm if you restore asbuilt or if you have the original speedo try restore backup :D
