SIDE BOARD WINDSCREEN RIGHT

Postby pippin » Wed Dec 04, 2019 5:30 pm

MK7

The above item came adrift at high speed but luckily it didn't part company from the van.

I need just the clips to fix it back on as they are broken.

I can get the complete thing including clips but am wondering if the clips are available separately.

Also, underneath it there were large chunks of black sealant which look like rectification in the factory.
Is that normal?

Thanks guys

ebay will have these clips, or you can get them from ford themselfs for cheap too

these are common adrift if not fitted correctly, if your seeing black sealant i would imagine your van has had a new windscreen at some point and they have broken the clips when removing and they have just stuck it back on

They are not cheap for what they are in Ford but you are better off going to them as there are 2 different types of clips fitted to the trim

Agreed 2 types + those trim clips are better off being genuine. I bought them of eBay a few years back and they were super annoying and felt like pulling my beard out lol

When I pushed down to let it fully clip in, whether done at speed with a good thump or teased in; whole thing just kept popping out. The little fins on the clips kept breaking.

Brilliant responses chaps - as is usual for this wonderful forum.

Any part number info?

Just to make it easier to order them.

That is an eBay listing and if you check the description, he has written the Ford part numbers there...

Think best thing to do is deffo gently apply pressure until it clips in. If you hit it hard it will break the clips...
