Fuel filter change - problem

Hi all.

2008 115 T350 RWD

Just changed fuel filter, but did not initially fill the new filter with new diesel!!
Started fine, but died.
Took off fuel filter and filled with new diesel, but did not start.
Left 30 seconds and re-tried - still didn't start.
Took off filter again and re-filled - still didn't start.
Left 30 secs - still didn't start.
Left 30 secs and "engine malfunction" message appeared on dash and now won't turn over.

Any advice please?

OK, panic over.
Disconnected battery and left for an hour.
Reconnected battery and with aid of Easy Start, it fired up.
After a while Engine Malfunction warning went out & all is good again!

You will fill it the next time

Always fill it with fresh diesel and not from the old filter.

Yep... especially if you actually filled your diesel can specifically the day before!!
