Yet another central locking & interior light issue

Postby james66 » Tue Mar 24, 2020 9:49 pm

Hi all

I have had a search but cant find a solution

This mk6 i recently picked up is all good except central locking & interior light

It has a sigma alarm fitted but apparently locking used to work perfectly on sigma fob & the ford fob
Previous owner removed the stock ford stereo & fitted an aftermarket stereo (cutting & splicing) & claims it was at that point the locking stopped working

All fuses are ok including the ones under the column
When I unlock it I can hear the locking module repeatedly clicking till I lock the doors, the door switches are both working as it will click till both are locked which ever door first
Once ignition on clicking also stops

Any ideas?

Also interior lighting, it has the usual 2 lights in the cab but then also has a small light on each of the roof beams which look to be a ford item
Nothing works on either door opening or switching them on manually
Again previous owner claims they were fine till someone banged their head on one of the rear ones & none have worked since
Have checked them all & all fuses but cannot see an issue

Any ideas?

Is it possible the 2 problems are linked?

It's been a good year since they stopped working & he never delved into the problems as didn't bother him, but it does me

At the moment I'm game for any suggestions

Thanks in advance
