Mk7 crew cab rear door not locking

Postby Nedw99 » Mon Apr 06, 2020 4:01 am

Hello I own a 2011 transit crewcab tipper and the door open light stays on the dash all the time, when I lock the doors the truck beeps then all the doors lock except the drivers side rear door, the truck has been like it since I've owned it, any help on how to fix this problem would be much appreciated. Thanks ned

The "Beep" is the truck's BCM telling you there's a problem with the locking system...basically one or more of the door lock mechanisms is not working properly....seems you've isolated the offending one, you may need to remove it to check connections or see if it's sticking or broken etc...

Thanks for the reply I've checked to plugs on the door all plugged in ok, all doors shut ok no problem there, just the red light stays on dash and that's the only door that doesn't lock when I lock the doors ?

You need to physically check the loom from the plug to the door lock mechanism for continuity.....could have broken wires or the mech itself is duff....

Thanks checked the wires on the loom going into the door and found 3 broken wires haha , swapped it for a spare one that looked in good nick and the red light was still on the dash but the door started locking off the key, when I took the wires out again and inspected the green wire was snapped too, what are the chances lol. I soldered it back together and it's all working fine now and no light on the dash :D thanks for the help.
