When i got injector there was a yellow sticker around top of injector. Tried the numbers on that but wouldn't accept them. So put the code in off top of plastic plug and accepted straight away.

Just had a message back from where i purchased injector to say the code is the sticker. But it wouldn't accept that.

Pcm

Postby Davehalldy » Tue Jun 30, 2020 1:36 pm

Just wondering how to go about replacing pcm. Is it difficult. Still haven't got van sorted out yet. Still gives dtc p0268b when attempting pump learn. Fails pilot learn because of misfire / cylinder imbalance code 83. It is running on all 4 cylinders but can hear it miss and smell fuel. Done another leak off test today and all 4 equal. Had it to a auto electrician he used launch delphi and some other machine could find problem. Had it to another garage yesterday who had it plugged into to a snapon machine couldn't find out the problem.so I'm thinking engine loom but can't find any damage or pcm. Don't know how to check or how to replace. I'm just stuck now on what to try next.

What was the result of your leak off test?
How did you carry out the test?
For how long and what volume of fuel in milliliters did you have coming back?
If using an eBay style generic test kit you will need to check the calibrations on the side as most are not in ml.
I don't think you have a pcm fault I think you have a fuel system fault. But pcm is not out of the realms of possiblity.

Each time you tell us you've done something but you not told us your results or specifics of what you've done or found.

The more accurate info the rest of us can get the more likely we can help you find the right solution rather than shooting from the hip.
If something is suggested to try or check then please do that and then provide your findings of that otherwise we all end up going in circles getting nowhere.
If you keep starting new threads then folk end up repeating themselves rather than seeing the history and moving forward.
If your not sure about that talk to Ned about his injectors

Hi. I connected the leak off kit up ran it until fuel reached the bottles. Emptied them then ran for 4 minutes. Then measured the fuel All where around 35 ml. The reason I'm thinking pcm is with high voltage draw. So some sort of electrical issue.

I'm still not convinced it's a pcm issue.
I did a set of learns yesterday and interesting to see this information before going through the procedure. Image

You will get this every time you do the learns....just erase it when everything is complted successfully.

Yes, and I always do.
It just rang a bell in my head when I saw it and recognised the code, so thought I'd pass this information onto the OP

That's interesting. But still cant get it to do pilot learns. I haven't even been able to use van. Tried learns last week and failed with a error code 83 misfire and cylinder imbalance. Never had that one before. Don't know what cylinder is actually misfiring because it is firing on all 4. Just not getting anywhere.

Maybe time to take them out and get them tested by a specialist, incase one of them is sticking or partially blocked, which will not affect the leak off excessively but will the injection and subsequent firing force of the cylinder in question which the pcm will pick up a fail the learns as it doesn't see the results within the range it's expecting.

Will have to see if I can find somewhere to test them. Its just taking forever with lock down and work. Also to garages not having a clue.

Thanks for the thumbs up that the code comes up when you do the pump learn. And recommending the injectors. Just changed the other 3 and did the pump and pilot learns straight away. Thanks for all the advice :D
