Poor Radio Reception

So 2008 Mk7, is it normal for the standard radio to get poor reception and struggle to get and keep stations ?
Put new mast and base on when I first got van, but, it seems to be getting worse lately

Been having same problem with mine over past month or two. Havent done anything to anything. Where I used to get good reception now not a lot. Strange indeed.

What roof is on your vans.
I had this issues with My last medium roof van and now my current one.
I have my van divided up so I can put ply/gyproc sheets up and over
the cab..
here lay my problem.. the radio arial flex runs up the outside of the structure
on the left.. I had damage it here while putting stuff up on the “Top Rack”,
pulling it off the base mount..
I reconnected the damaged wire, and re-routed it in behind the panel so it
wouldn’t happen again.

Good point DB
Yes its a mid roof
Yes its insulated with Kingspan
Some of the aerial cable is effectively inside the insulation where it might be better between the insulation and van skin
I will try that over the weekend

Update - seems a little improved since I put cable against roof skin
Still not brilliant though
