Lost communication with steering angle sensor

Postby Tybertpaddy » Wed Sep 16, 2020 9:02 pm

Can anyone help? 2013 (63) t350 125 chassis cab, I’ve just changed the discs and pads all round rear callipers and rear hub seals, brake pad low warning light wouldn’t go out so I pulled out the clocks to bridge the pins and the light went out. I then noticed some electric tape stuck over what turned out the be the traction control warning light. I peeled it off and the light is stuck on. I scanned it and got lost communication with steering angle sensor, the one in there was non genuine so I replaced it with a ford one, done the 3 turns left and right lines up the marks and the light was still on I calibrated it with a snapon solus ultra, it said calibration successful. Light is still on, cleared codes, light still on!!!! Got live data up and it’s showing no reading at centre or when I turn the wheel at all! So now I’m lost has anyone got any ideas?

the steering angle sensor there are 4 pins.

pin 1 is ground

Pin 2 is can lo

Pin 3 is can hi

Pin 4 is supply 5 or 12v

The connector should have at least 1 pin number on it to show the orientation etc. Ie. 1
