Ford Transit mk7 2.2 euro 5 camshaft sensor fault

Postby ardholm » Sat Oct 31, 2020 8:22 pm

Hi
Just new to the forum, need help
I have a transit mk7 2.2 euro 5 fwd, I just had a refurbished engine installed, the cog light came on, checked fault code P0341, replaced cam sensor fault still there, changed crank sensor, fault still there, took it to an auto electrician, got the all-clear, got the timing checked everything fine, the cog light on was very intermittent, the engine is hunting when you try and give it revs, I am now in limp mode due to P2463 needing a regen, if I had any hair left I would be pulling it out lol

Might not necessarily be the sensors, replacing sensors and getting the same faults is the giveaway....it could be their looms or connectors not happy.....but you'd expect the auto electrician would find it if it were the case.

Comes up "Camshaft Sensor" - so changed it, but it still comes up with the same thing. Is it possible to buy a wiring loom for it, or a plug? Just thinking how I can determine if it's not the Camshaft sensor itself- how do you find the fault amongst a birds nest of wiring? Are the fuses in between? Any advice welcome

When I drive away, Van lurches forward like it wants to take off (previously thought it was the clutch, so changed it, but it still does it with new clutch. Then accelerate to 2000 rpm -Van suddenly feels like someone has slammed the emergency brakes on. Then when I continue on -does the same in 3rd gear, (around 2000 rpm) and after going into 4th, 5th and 6th -its mostly going ok. Goes up to 65-70mph. Can't continue driving it when it runs like crap. Camshaft sensor continues to appear on mechanics diagnosis, but as I recently changed it - appears its not the actuall sensor. Any advice please?

hi mate, did you ever sort this issue, i have the same exact thing on my 2015 custom 2.2tdci, says camshaft sensor fault, i have changed it for a genuine ford part and still the same, you can pull off and it feels great the 2500rpm it just shuts down in to limp with no em lights on???
