So why did you not ask about fitting a TDDI into a mk7 rather than putting a mk7 gbos into a Mk6. That's a totally different operation and has been done before by others to varying degrees.camper-man wrote:paul2012 wrote:I already tried it & unfortunately no.
Paul what was the trouble you had getting it to fit? - I am going to fit a mk6 DTDI engine in a 2013 mk7 and bin the 2.2 TDCI but wanted to keep the mk7 gearbox if I can
Thanks

Linkage and drive shafts will be same as from what I read he's putting a Mk6 engine into a mk7 van and wanting to keep the mk7 Gbox.andz327 wrote:Would imagine it would be flywheel & clutch is where most difference would be. 6spd comes with dual mass flywheel but there is conversions to single so you'd need to get clutch kit with driven plate to match gearbox splines and pressure plate to match solid mk6 flywheel ( not sure if mk7 f/wheel would fit mk6) gear linkage would need changing, don't know if drive shafts would be different.......

Noo thats different, the heading says into mk6..... So basically it's will a 2.0tddi engine fit in a mk7 with 6spd gearbox.....will only be clutch and flywheel to mess with , GOOD LUCK GETTING THAT PASSED EMISSION TEST IF TESTER GOES BY NUMBER ON VIN PLATEAirthies wrote:Linkage and drive shafts will be same as from what I read he's putting a Mk6 engine into a mk7 van and wanting to keep the mk7 Gbox.andz327 wrote:Would imagine it would be flywheel & clutch is where most difference would be.

From my understanding it's just a case of matching the right clutch & flywheel, but not sure which it should be, I'm sure the boxes mate as folk have have done this before.
