Evening gents
I’ve had an ongoing problem for a few months now and my trusted garage has run out of ideas; booked in to the local Ford dealer for 11th Dec.
There are no error codes, the light does work.
When the van is up to operating temp - temp needle pointing straight up in line with the second mark, to 12 on the gauge, or half way on the gauge...however you want to phrase it lol...if I stop the van it will not restart (90% of the time) until it has cooled down to the first mark or less. It will turn over and even sounds like it is about to start and then it just doesn’t. Once it cools down as described it starts no problem. This next bit might be my imagination...but I honestly think it makes a difference if I try to hot start facing up or down a hill! I think it is more likely to hot start facing down hill and has to cool down even more than described if I try to hot start facing up hill?!
Has anyone got any ideas...my trusted garage have never let me down before but they are stumped on this one. They said the next option was new injectors but they didn’t want to do this without knowing it would fix the problem. They asked me to get it diagnosed at Ford and if Ford find out the problem, to let them know the issue because they would like to know what they have ‘missed’.
I have even started planning my journeys so that I don’t have to do a hot start, makes quoting on jobs a real PITA I can tell you...and refuelling I have to leave the engine running so as not to block a pump for 30+ minutes.
I know jack sh*t about diesels but if I had to guess I’d say sensor or fuel pump related issue...
I’ve had a good long search and found nothing that similar on the forum.
Thanks in advance
Karl
