Could be either but check wiring loom to pads for a break, did you clean the pins as well as pads , I've got clean ma pins every week with crap that throws up off motorways in this weather
Are pins definitely touching , door fully closing etc

Clean pins and contacts,
dob of grease on end of pins,
Shut door, open door,
Check where grease is on contacts.
Make sure it's striking properly.
Check back rollers for collapsing or loosing plastic cover off main roller

have looked at wiring cant see any breaks or frayed wires.Have ordered new door rollers as they are not in the best condition ,will fit these and see what happens with the contacts as they are not making good contact with each other

If all the other doors are working and the pin contacts/wiring are good ...it'll more than likely be the actuator in the sliding door.

Is the door aligned properly? I just refurbed my sliding door contacts. To check the alignment, I put a piece of painters tape on the van contacts, and rubbed some dirt/grease on the pins. Shut the door, open it, and see where the marks are on the tape.

You can unplug the sensors on both sides and buzz them out with a multimeter to ensure there's continuity between the connections. I had continuity from connector to contact on both sides, but not through the entire path when the van door was shut, so i did the alignment test described above and saw that the door was hanging low, so that the 3 pins on the door were contacting the spaces between the pads on the van body. Some adjustments to the door mounts / shackle and it's locking properly :) After getting jammed shut 5 times and making me want to off myself.... hah
