Heated Mirrors NON Electric?

Postby Ivesy » Sat Jan 16, 2021 3:50 pm

Hi guys. I fitted what I'm guessing was an electric folding mirror to my transit, then went in a car wash and the machine litteraly snapped it off, because it wouldn't fold in as the spinners went past. I didn't even realise that electric folding was a thing. So I'm trying to find a replacement, I guess what I need is heated, but not electric folding, but can't seem to find that anywhere. It's either electric heated, or bog standard non heated. Anyone managed to find these anywhere?
Many thanks. Tom

They didn’t make or fit electric folding mirrors to mk6 or 7.

The glass can be electrically adjusted and heated.

Can’t remember ever seeing an electric adjustable mirror that wasn’t heated....

Whether you can get heated without electric adjust,I doubt but can’t say for certain, don’t remember ever seeing one.

How long you had the van
How do you normally adjust your mirrors

Thanks Andz. Yeah I got it sorted in the end. And yes you are right you would of thought the car wash machine would stop instead of snapping the cast ally.

They were electric adjust, and heated, but for some reason it wouldn't fold in, maybe it was just a cheap rubbish part. Anyway replaced with an electic & heated Ford part.
