Code u0120 and battery light on

Hi,

just wondering if anyone has had this issue? Got a Euro 5 Transit 2.2 RWD that keeps putting the alternator light on after a while. The only code that comes up is u0120:00 Lost communication with generator or starter.

It seems to be charging, but its hard to tell with the smart charge. Seems to sit about 13.5v when running, and the batteries aren't going flat.

Not really sure where to start but I am going to try tracing the smart charge wiring.

Had the same prob.em for ages finally fixed it now charg3s properly and light stays out
The ecu security cover had put pressure on loom and broken green linbus signal wire
