Forscan - can you change door locking procedure?

Postby snowjoe » Thu Feb 25, 2021 10:59 pm

I have Forscan. Only used it once but had a good look through and couldn't see any way to change things like internal light off time, door locking etc.
I know someone on here said it's possible with forscan but as I couldn't see it, i wonder if you have to buy the full version? I didnt pay for my version so presumably i am on trial/girly version!
I really want to change the unlocking so it all unlocks with one push of the unlock button (rear and side as well as front) rather than having to press two buttons as we do now, very annoying. Is it definitely doable with Forscan?
thanks

Did you know that pressing the front door button twice also unlocks the rear?

You need the extended licence....l believe it's part of the module programming...BCM-ll. There's several options.

Ah I see. Thanks. When you say its part of the module programming, i assume you dont mean i need to send it back to have it programmed after purchase?!

On the Forscan website you can apply for the extended licence for 2 months trial period I believe...free. They, (Forscan), then send a code to you .... you just enter the extended licence code into the Forscan program and it opens up more functionality including module programming etc....it's very good for a free service. I believe you can also apply for several other extended licences, 12months, 3 & 5 years or lifelong...etc...but I understand you need to pay for these.

Is forscan for OBD? - Or does it work on non OBD vans?

Mine is non OBD..
2002 Mk6 2.4L T330 (Turbo) 90HP with Auto gearbox / clutch / shifter.

Also has a built in brown trouser momenter due to the novel rear suspension and a "this'll cost a lot to fix" thought generator :!:

Forscan will work on both Mk6 and Mk7 with the appropriate interface...a "modified" ELM-327 with the MS/HS switch is the usual weapon of choice.

Mk6 is OBD...but not OBD-II...most "newer" readers/diagnostic units etc are OBD-II so they won't work on the Mk6.

Just be aware the modified ELM-327 is not free...but it is cheap...less than 20 sheckles..
