Stalls in neutral at tick over

Postby Col 52 » Sat Feb 27, 2021 7:56 pm

During the cold snap my van stalls in neutral now and then mainly when warm. Seemed to right itself but has returned. If a clutch down in neutral it’s ok. But realease and after about 5seconds stalls from tickover. The van restarts ok and I service it a few months ago except for fuel filter which I drained any ideas as new to transits?thanks

As above
Could be fuel filter (even though you drained it) , what is the reading in the glass bowl on filter housing, if up in red its choked, and probably only running when clutch pressed is poss kicked in anti-stall which increases revs slightly when clutch pressed

Thanks for the quick reply’s guys. I’ve replaced air filter 2 months ago. What’s the process of checking that the filter in the glass bowl?as no mention of it in the owners handbook. I’m presuming you just push that vacuum type button?thanks Andy for the anti stall info that makes sense. Was thinking of putting Somme diesel injections clean in with the diesel or are these treatments a bit of a gimmick. Is a prv a garage job?once a go through the fuel filter process and are there easy to replace doing it my self as never done one b4 so be good to learn Many thanks in advance

It's not a "vacuum type button" it's a filter blockage indicator. If it's in the red, the filter needs replaced.
