Mk7 115, 57 plate, intermittent starting fault

Evening all. I’ve been a member on here for a while using the forum for help but this is my first post. Found a lot of posts with the same problems as me but no one has ever posted an answer to the problem.
First thing in the morning the Van won’t start. The starter will turn slowly or click 5-8 times, then next try it will start without fault. Once the van has been running it won’t do it again for the rest of the day until it’s been left for 5-6 hours in the evening then will do the same again. The rest of the day it will start first time. Does anyone have any ideas?

Ignition switch is a common fail point.

I’ve fitted a new ignition switch and hasn’t changed. I’ve got two new batteries on order as garage said they were down to 75%. Anyone else have any ideas?

Have now fitted a pair of new batteries and that doesn’t seem to have made any difference either. I’ve also cleaned the main earth strap from the batteries to the chassis, again no luck. I’ve got a new starter coming to rule that out. But failing that I think it’s going to have to go back to Ford.

Changed the start motor and that seems to have cured the problem. Starts first time everytime now.
