P2033 - Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor

Postby layz » Thu Apr 15, 2021 7:09 pm

Ford Transit 2.2, 140bhp, 2012, FWD

Alright so a week ago this code came up and I stupidly didn't act on it and now there is a problem with the particulate filter.
P246C - Particulate Filter Restriction - Forced Limited Power (Bank 1)
P2463 - Particulate Filter Restriction - Soot Accumulation (Bank 1)

Unrelated but would be lover to fix:
P0673 - Cylinder 3 Glow Plug Circuit / Open
P0674 - Cylinder 4 Glow Plug Circuit / Open
Transit mk7 2012, 2.2 140 FWD DPF
302.000 kilometers

Tried changing the sensor and doing a static regen?

Wiring for temp sensor prone to breaking off flush with the connector plugs on crossmember bracket,as the loom comes down over gearbox on FWD.

Fix the fault, will need a static regen with the codes you have now.
Dynamic (on the road) regens inhibited above 150% soot load.

i see i was in a hurry when i posted this, i didnt write the full question...

whats missing is my question about where exactly i find this sensor. i was looking underneath the van and i found a part of the exhaust that has sensors, but those seem to go to the dpf pressure sensor, so i guess i was looking at the dpf. i'll take some pictures to clarify.

regen started but failed after 63%

i did keep an eye on the soot level and dpf load and the numbers made no sense to me because i dont know how they should behave or what is considered safe.

I got this when my vapouriser failed and my soot level was 200%.

The posts are 2021.

Better to start a new post.

Watch O Reiley utube DPF vids.

Some claim that the glow plugs in the cylinders are required for regen' Never seen an explanation as to why.
The DPf regen has its own fuel supply and glow plug - heater - The exhaust gas temp is around 300 c and raised to 600 c by the vaporiser and it's glow plug after the vapouriser and before the DPF.
Starting an engine in cold weather without the using the glow plug would add to soot accumulation.
The differential pressure of the DPF is used to start a regen.

Better to watch several of O Reiley's vids to get the idea.
2012 MK 7 E 5 100-350 3.5 XLWB RWD Duratorq 2.2L CR TC 14 DSL 100/125 PS E5 DPF BCM PCM RCM
Was DRRB 74 KW 100 HP 100 cv. Now CYR5 125 HP. PCM could still be for 100 HP.
There's more letters after a Transit than a military man

Cheers for reply. I have been watching him on youtube, very intelligent guy, but i am no mechanic so i only get the basic of it. I have checked the wires underneath and all look ok. I have just replaced my vaporizer as is was blocked up. I not sure if i need to do anything after installation or just do a regeneration, as fault codes still there.
