Blown central locking fuse and sliding door deadlock jammed

Postby smalley2902 » Tue May 04, 2021 7:10 pm

Hi,

My mk6 has suddenly started blowing the locking fuse each time the fob is used. I've been trying to figure out the cause - I presume it's shorting somewhere but so far I haven't found the cause.

Along side this, the deadlock on the sliding door isn't unlocking the door. When I turn the knob it just flicks back to its starting position where normally it would've turned and unlocked the door.

Combined, I guess the problem is on that door, maybe the contact pins or the actuator. However, until I can unlock this door I can't check either.

Any advice on how to get this door unlocked? And any ideas on the fuse blowing?

Cheers

i had the same problem with mine , I pulled off the wood panel and yanked the cable several times to open it, temporary fix is to put mole grips on the black thing when its in the open position as the solenoid cannot turn the thing , there is a good explanatory video on You tube , its all about the cable adjustment , which is very sensitive :(
