Try right click on folder should be an option to extract all there

Right, iv now managed to unzip the folder, that’s now like an open folder icon on desktop,
What’s my next step?

Plug the USB reader cable into your computer and it should search for the driver
Or
Once you have extracted the driver files look for the exe file, right click and run it as administrator.
The driver will then install correctly.

Yeh plugged the elm in and it still shows under other devices; usb serial still has the yellow triangle…
I know it’s summit simple I’m missing, but we shall get there…

Right, iv fobbed off winzip, I know wasted £35
Then tried driver support one, again, waste of another 10a…
Going to download every possible site till this bloody thing works…
Either that I’ll just end up starting again, bloody vans…

Which elm did you buy and where from
what operating system is on your laptop i.e Windows 7 64bit : Windows 7 32bit, ect
the yellow triangle suggests no driver installed

After a kool down period, trust me I needed it, I figured out a few things, so went back to the beginning, went on tunnel rat again and went through every bit of info I could, end result, iv now got the driver installed, the elm is connected to the laptop at long last…
Went to start the van and the batteries flat, so booster on charge now and shall recommence in the morning,
It’s been a fun day, and no doubt tomorrow will be even more fun, but that’s another day yet to be had…
