Need your help, pic added, ++update++ another pic added

Postby viper » Thu Oct 18, 2007 9:06 pm

Hi all.

Im hoping somebody here knows or who can check for me the front hub bearing spec
as I wont be able to get these where I am, big bearing importer said if I can supply
the bearing part number then they could assist, I could strip down and then match but
if they dont have and need to bring it in then its going to cause major delays as once
the bearing sare pressed out they cannot be re pressed in so its important I have the
new bearings present to press in.

Image
The bearing number is located as per the yellow line

Any help appreciated as I've searched the net in vein for this number but can
only locate complete hub units
Cheers

you should PM gemini or Rover as they will probably know the numbers off by heart

Hope this helps.

The bearing doesn't actually look like the one in that picture.

The bearings are part of a unit that bolts onto the hub carrier. The hub flange presses into the bearing and then the whole lot is kept in place by the shaft / spindle in the middle of it.

The only non automotive part supplier I've come across that can get it is SKF, without looking on a new bearing though.....i'm fooked if I can remember it as we only use either the basic part number or the FINIS code and not the OEM supplier details.

Found another pic (had it for awhile), pity the number cant be identified but this is the best pic so far and its as you mentioned "SKF" Nighthawk.
So far I have spent trillions of hours on the net in search of this number and this is the nearest I've got to it yet.

I did once see a e-bay advert for just that bearing when I was in the UK, silly me didnt get numbers when in the UK have a few other items Im battling with but slowly getting them adapted like airfilter and fuel filter, brake pads have been a nightmare and it dont help whenmy sister and brother inlaw couldnt be bothered to assist in the UK after all I've done for them, guess they have tomuch money to help as he's deep in the IT world busy making too much money £750k house I think that pretty much sums it up .

Viper m8

I'll have the SKF number for you tomorrow......I got a little bit sidetracked today and didn't manage to get a bearing in my hand.

I have a contact with an SKF bearing stockist who's trying to find out if the part is available through the SKF distributor network.......i'll report back as soon as I have that :)

Thanks bud and much appreciate it, I see we have a big SKF whareouse/manufacturing depot near where I live and so their part number would be great, if I went in there and told them what I was after they would say "you'll have to try somewhere else cos we dont make them" so armed with right info will get themover a barrel.

Cool and thanks again.

Thanks Nighthawk Im sure those numbers will assist and will see what SKF can do for me soonest.

Hi Andy, those are the parts but not being in the UK makes getting parts for my van a difficult task, I was after the part number so I could get local suppliers to get them in for me from wherever.

Cheers

Thanks for the offer, possibly going to openbank account soon much to my regret as its been heaven not having one but Im getting too busy to ignore it and then will buy off the net from UK, bloody postal charges is not what Imlooking forward to, ie: soid clutch kit £420 thats through the gpo, havnt tried dhl or others yet not that I need but just curious if ever it was the only way to get one. K&N filter ready to collect and works out cheaper than what you guys can buy it for, buggered if Iknow how they get it right, guess its all to do with mark up
