Specifically a message for Paul2012 or any one that could help please. Hi I’m new and not too sure how all this works. Any way this is a message for Paul, you seem to be an authority on all things Transit !! So here goes. I’m utterly losing my sh*t !! After a long running dispute with a local “mobile mechanic” I received my van keys back and a refund plus some parts he had charged to fit but obviously never had !! As annoying as it was I was pleased to be saving myself the £300+ van hire a week. So go to the van and it won’t start !! AA called 2 hours later it won’t start. Key unlocks ignition turns all lights come on glow light goes out key turns and nothing no click no turning over nish !!! So I have the van recovered to a local commercial garage, they have the van a week and it won’t start it won’t bump won’t tow nothing. So call out an ex Ford auto electrician ! He comes looks and says the little alarm light in the dash is not flashing. He did give it a technical name but it escapes me. So he plugs in and gets no faults He then goes to the ECU and notices it looks kind of disturbed and the top has been pried open, not unbolted but like lifted up. He removes the ECU takes out the 6 little bolts that hold the cover on and it looks like someone has smashed it to bits inside!!!! Several components are now off the board. So he says I need another ECU and I must find one with matching numbers. Great I look on EBay and all local breakers, but But BUT I can’t find out which numbers must match ?? I have found one very similar I have 8CAD in bold at the top so does this new one. under the long arse bar code to the left I have 3C11-12A650-GD everything else matches but the number to the right side under the same bar code is a few numbers different, does this matter ? The electrician is busy I have called him and he said numbers must match but he’s not really elaborating on which ones ?? Any idea please your transitness Sir Dr King ?????? Many thanks in advance
