MK7 2011, 2.4 TDi, whistling when accellerating

Hi guys,

about two weeks ago it started making a whistling sound when accelerating from the engine area and is stronger and stronger. When looking into the engine area, it comes from above from the side, like a turbo is. But: The vehicle runs normally, without any loss of energy or other strange noises, etc. The Turbo also responds well to strong acceleration.

I noticed following behavior:
1. When accellerating slowly - no problem, no sound.
2. When accellerating fastly - whistling.
3. When outside temperature is lower, whisteling is also lower. Same when temperatures are rising, whisteling is stronger.

I thing it looks rather like a seal problem than a whole turbo.

Check for split boost hoses/pipes and/or a split intercooler.
