Lifting a MK6

Postby Joe in Oz » Thu Jul 08, 2021 8:01 am

Finally made and fitted a liftkit to our Mk6: 40mm at the front (top of McPherson strut spacer) and 50mm at the rear (50x60 fabricated steel spacer blocks).
Made no noticable difference in handling and gives great ground clearance.Image

I made them myself on a lathe from a solid bar. Then drilled 3 holes in each flange, tapped one side for M8 studs and the other for the McPherson studes to clear.
Not a difficult job...

I got similar results but with the added advantage of now having camber and caster adjustments on the front struts with these The new coi;ls gave a 30ml lift as well , the rear I simply replaced the old parabolic s with 10 leaf progressive leaves and a 30ml block extra in the passenger side rear to level the rear and help alignment
