Update.
Crank sensor replaced. No improvement.
Will get codes tomorrow.
Will also ask garage as a last ditch attemp to fill fuel filter & crank over with injector connections to see if fuel is getting there or not.
Will update soon.
My big concern is if I do go ahead and have a recon pump fitted, but it doesn't fix the problem, not like the garage will refund me for advising a new pump incorrectly.... They will just say, ah well, onto changing the next thing we feel is causing the problem & I've spent £1300 / £1500 on something I didn't really need.

What were the actual fault codes from the garage..?? It would at least point you in the right direction instead of guessing and aimlessly throwing parts at it. You can set yourself up with Forscan easily for less than 20 quid and do it yourself.
