Driver side striker plate

Postby Jp71 » Sat Sep 25, 2021 11:37 am

Looks like there are some cracks in the paintwork and a bit of rust starting to form, is this a major or can it be fixed relatively easily? Will post some photos in the morning. Hoping it’s not so bad that you have to access from behind as it’s built out and that would a right pain the arse to take off that plastic cover the seatbelt mechanism lives behind.

All advice welcomed, cheers

Some rust spots are just the tip of the iceberg, best to get it sorted.

Thanks mate. I figured this was the case. Is it likely the plastic housing behind is likely to need to come off or too hard to say without seeing the situation (as I’m expecting is the case). Trying to mentally prepare myself if I have to dismantle the camper

Done a couple now that are cracked round the striker.
I've just welded up from outside, it is a pain to get it ground back though with the profile of the panel if your wanting a neat finish

Nice, thanks. Sounds like a job for the panel beater. Cheers
