Steering gear supply pipe.

Postby rotory » Mon Oct 25, 2021 3:27 pm

Hi all
My chicken shed has a corroded HP supply pipe (4548394) from pump to rack. I intend to change it when I can find a buggar !.
I will order the union separate (6742740), can anyone tell me what the Tq loading is for this union >pump ?. And confirm that it is a push fit for the pipe.
Thank you
Martin

Never torqued one yet , some new pipes don't fit the nut properly or nut to pipe
Personally I make sure nut fits on pipe proper then just tighten with a spanner
Could always just repair pipe with a straight compression fitting from local pluming shop for a quid or 2

Thanks very much for the reply, I was wondering if there are any bogus pipes out there !. It could be a bit hit & miss project.
Cheers.
