Rear Anti roll bar mk6 lwb rwd - adding?

Postby tbullivant » Sun Dec 05, 2021 11:10 am

Morning all,

Hope everyone is safe and well and your vans are running well.

I am after some advice on adding a rear anti roll bar to my mk6 lwb rwd. It's a camper conversation and there is a bit of body roll when cornering. I can see that some models and configurations had them, and wondering if it is worth it on mine or is there any draw back to adding one?

If it's worth while is it simple enough to bolt one on or does it require fabrication to add to a van that didn't have one out of the factory.

Any help and advice welcomed.

I added ARBs from an ambulance to my Mk3 recovery truck and it made a hell of a differance when loaded, unloaded TBH it made rear grip worse but that wont be an issue with a motorhome as it's allways fully loaded.

I’m not sure but if it’s a van body you are looking at fitting one it may not have the brackets welded to the body not on a mk 6 but on a early model I looked at fitting one and it meant fabricating and welded them on and you may have to do the same on the axle .
If you can find a van with one fitted it may be worth a look to see if you have brackets to fit one .

Cheers chaps, will keep an eye open for a mk6 that has one and try and get some pictures of it without looking too dodgy...
