Only done a few miles but running much better - jerking seems to have gone. I got the Ford one which i couldn't fully tighten unlike the previous Mann one.

A small bit of grease or vaseline on the out retainer helps it turn easier.....had the same with mine, was a bugger to turn until I greased it up a bit.

Or do you mean put grease on it to help it push up into the locking position?
