non start

hi van has now decided to not start after standing idle for a week ,turns over but wont start,got some easy start but where do you spray it never used it before

Please help us by letting us know what vehicle it is..?? Easy start is best sprayed into the air filer housing, remove the filter element and spray into the inlet pipe while someone turns the engine over....but once it fires, stop spraying as too much is not good for it and rpms cannot be controlled as it does not have a throttle valve.

It's probably best if you find out why it doesn't start rather than bodge it. Have you checked to see if the fuel filter is full...?? If not you'll have found the issue.

charging battery up overnight will have a look at fuel filter and go from there,dont really want to use easystart as have heard bad things about it cheers for info

tried easystart got the van going took it for run and in first and second gear hesitates other gears are ok also when i put my foot down it dies a bit then picks up ,going to do a service on it over the weekend all filters and fluids see if that helps anyone got any more sugestions cheers

left van over night tried starting again this morning started without easystart ticked over for about 5-6 mins then stopped wont start not tried easystart yet just wondering how long will the engine run with the fuel in the fillter as cant hear low pressure pump unless ive gone death

You still haven't told us what vehicle it is..?? Or are you still talking about the Skoda..??

One of your previous posts mentions a 2.4 Mk7..?? If that's the case, you don't have a low pressure pump.

Sorry about the above its a 2007 transit 85 t280s fwd and not a skoda [i got no idea why i put that up ,i do own one im getting old for god sake lol].All the posts above are about the transit .The van will start on easystart ,i borrowed a code reader from a mate and all thats coming up is EGR VALVE P1409,P1402,P0404 and MAS P1103 to be far it was a cheap reader.

Looks like your EGR valve is playing up. That would explain the erratic behaviour.

You may be able to clean up the existing one (they get full of carbon deposits) and sort the problem. Alternatively bolt on a fresh one and you ought to be good to go.

thats what i was thinking taking it of today and giving it a good clean see if that works if not ill get a new one

Replaced egr valve with new one ,but still wont start without easystart.Took it for run and it runs a lot smoother than before.Any ideas as to where to look next ,still waiting to get service kit ie filters and fluid.Any thing else i should check ?

Is it hard to start when cold or left overnight..?? Does it start ok when warm or not long stopped..??
