What is my van trying to tell me

Postby STEVE P » Fri Jan 14, 2022 10:18 am

All day yesterday my 200ps let out a beep as I started it. The same beep when it's low on fuel but it said I had about 150miles range and the gauge was showing about quarter full.

Everything seems to be working and there are no warning lights on.

Out of desperation I filled it up with fuel and the beep stopped .

Normally the low fuel beep comes on at about 50 miles range.

Is my van getting range anxiety?

Any ideas.

Outside low temperature warning? It will state this on the dash though?

mine dosnt state anything on the dash for low temp, the only thing i know about it is the heated front screen automatically comes on

tbh tho, any beeping i would be oblivious to, im half deaf, cant hear indicators. lights on buzzer or alike, the van had a company employee tracker when i got it, and i couldnt hear that either lol, passengers could tho

so the question is, should i be asking anyone if they can hear a low temp warning or not

A long beep on start up can indicate faulty parking sensors.

Usually it's everytime you start though.

One to monitor then Steve.

Obviously different ages and spec will vary.
I have a Mk7 Euro 5 2014. When it is below 5 degrees, the information ‘i’ warning sign aluminates orange (and in red if below zero), the words ‘low outside temperature’ display on the dash and a beep sounds as a warning.
Also a Snowflake icon will appear next to a reading of the outside temperature.

But usually there's a message along with the beep

The reverse park sensors are working.

My van is a 2009 and only has the basic information so no temp display.

The van is not due service and the spanner light is not on but illuminates on start.

Just been out for the morning and it has making that beep noise again when I start it. Over half a tank of fuel, reverse sensors working and its 6 degrees here.

Any more ideas?

Thanks Steve
