Do tell?

Is there another bit of electronic wizardry that goes wrong or something mechanical?

I'll try to explain what I meant.

The electronics in the back of the pump do much more than provide an immobiliser, they also control the function of the pump, and any attempt to fudge the immobiliser may well destroy the normal functioning of the pump.
It's not a mechanical pump with an added immobiliser, such as was used on the N/A Mk5

Ah right i see what you mean.

I've been watching multiple videos on this mosfet / transistor and have seen multiple people say not to mess with the rest of the PCB, just the mosfet so i'm forewarned on that.

I just need to get my state of mind to one for ordering the parts.. i'm really not looking forward to this. I don't mind timing, thats relatively easy compared to the volvo lumps however i just don't like taking all the rest of the gubbins apart and then putting it all back together.
2002 Mk6 2.4L T330 (Turbo) 90HP with Auto gearbox / clutch / shifter.

Also has a built in brown trouser momenter due to the novel rear suspension and a "this'll cost a lot to fix" thought generator :!:
