POOBC M.A.F Air flow too low on Forscan

Postby CJMC » Mon Jan 24, 2022 2:52 pm

Hi
I have a late 2013 mk7 jumbo, I just finished a complete engine swap with a brand new ford longblock and 4 new injectors.
It has driven fine for the first 300km but entered limp mode yesterday morning instantly after turning it on. I ran Forscan and it came up with code
P00BC M.A.F airflow too low.

From reading in this forum I am to belive this is more likley to be an egr problem (new cooler but egr of old engine)
Can anyone speculate please
Also are spurious egr valves a waste of time ?

Cheers

Check for an inlet air leak between MAF sensor and turbo inlet.
It’s pulling unmetered air from somewhere.
Make sure the breather pipe connection to rocker cover is still secure, and it isn’t holed anywhere.
They tend to go soft with the oil where it meets the rubber air pipe from filter box.

EGR valve can cause the fault, but would hopefully throw a code for the valve being out of position.
Some non-genuine ones are rubbish and will fault even when brand new,you get what you pay for to some extent, but genuine Ford ones, aren’t cheap.
