Inertia switch.

Postby JimboRN » Sat May 21, 2022 9:26 am

Hi, I have a 2011 Euro4 115 2.2 diesel Transit. It won’t start. Cranks nicely but not a twitch from the engine.
My handbook states that the inertia switch is behind the glove box and up to the left. There’s nothing there remotely resembling the item. I’m stuck in a remote village in Bulgaria and I’m tearing my hair out! The van is UK registered and is a rh drive. Is there such a switch on this Model and if so, where is it hiding?
Thanks in advance for your desperately needed advice!

I don't believe that there is one, not on a euro4 anyway :?

Thanks for that information. Is there some alternative fault that could present this particular problem? I have bled the injectors and still no start!

Does it attempt to run with a squirt of WD40 or easy start directly into the air intake?

Just so you know, if you crack open the fuel lines on a TDCi, the PCM will detect the drop in fuel pressure and prevent the engine starting. So long as the fuel filter is full of fuel, it will self bleed.

There are many reasons why a "managed" engine won't start, you really need a code reader to give yourself a heads up where to look :?
