Problem starting Mk7 when engine is warm/hot

Postby david.reid83 » Mon Aug 15, 2022 9:17 am

Hey guys,

I am having some issues on my mk7 2.2 fwd 09, fitted a new clutch and DMF about 12 months ago, a new battery about 18 months ago new scv and prv about 12 months ago also had to change the starter due to a slight diesel leak from the prv was north on tight and dripped onto my starter and destroyed it about 9 months ago.

Out of the blue it would start like a trooper cold and as mentioned here do a short drive and it just turns over so I have replaced the scv and did the learns, tried the pilot and it failed on cylinder 4. Thinking it was the injector I did a leak test and they where all good.

So I’m told it could be the PRV when hot it’s possibly failing.

Could that be the case?

did you replace with genuine denso parts? as if not its likely that it has failed.
could be a bad seal on injector when were they last serviced? may be worth whipping them out give them a ream and clean and replace the copper washers, then re do the learns
is that rust spot new?
