Mk6 rwd 90hp 20amp ECU fuse blowing

Hi guys,

Hoping someone can point me in the right direction or a checklist to go through.
Yesterday my truck died which seemed electrical to me, after having a look I tried to plug it in but wouldn't read any codes, so I then noticed the 20a ECU fuse under the bonnet was blown. Replaced fuse but instantly blows again so I'm guessing I have a short somewhere?
Where do I start? Common electrical issue?

If it's blowing the fuse, there must be a short.

I've narrowed it down to the ECU so far, I pulled the ECU relay and unplugged the ECU, it now doesn't blow the fuse.
I guess next step is to unplug everything the ECU controls?
