Correct fuses, kit, Mk 7

Postby Karst » Tue Aug 16, 2022 8:41 pm

Hi Folks,

It's been a while. Once I got the mass of issues sorted in my van, it has been incredibly reliable. Passed the MOT in February, and the guy said he'd written off younger ones for rust, mine was possibly the best he'd seen of its age. The battery drain was solved by a very competent local autoelectrician. The engine goes like a dream.

I've just got one issue now - I want to buy a fuse kit, I want a selection of compatible fuses. I've done an internet search for this or for information, but it's all unclear or undefined. I've had a look and search here and haven't found anything. Can anyone help??

Can you tell us what was causing the drain :?:

Fuses are mini-blades:-

Many thanks Altransit, just bought them.

I'm afraid I don't know what caused the drain. He spent quite a while fiddling about over 2 visits, he seemed to basically take out all fuses that were not essential, then checked the drain, and it had almost completely vanished, just the merest hint of it was leftover, and this was enough to effectively cure the problem. He told me it was extremely difficult to identify exactly what the cause was, but he mentioned something about some small subsidiary batteries that I think were connected to the alarm, that they could be completely knackered and because of this current was being drained from the battery instead. Sorry I can't be less foggy than this, he did this about 4 months ago.
