Propshaf rebuild LWB 5 speed Mk7 of 2007

Postby superfly35 » Mon Sep 19, 2022 9:42 pm

Hi everyone,
Following the end of live of the clucth on my transit 2007 LWB 5 speed.
I looked at the propshaft and I tought the bearing are shoot so let s do it too.

So I started and so are the trouble... i got the proshaft out no problem.
Then I remove the U joint with some difficulty but it work after some press work.
I also remove the U attachement one side of the front part (gearbox side) no problem.
But the middle U attachement is impossible to get out, I gently hammered, I pry a lot with the bar nothing is moving. It is like it is rock solid on it.
Does anyone had the problem ?

Any idea welcome I am considering rebuying but the van is 300 000 km so i dont want to spend to much money.

Thanks

Take it to a proper tailshaft repair place....they'll know how to do it.

Not without the proper tooling you won't. Propshaft place has special tooling to cope with this sort of issue.
