Mk7 transit 2.4 to 3.2 conversion

Postby Trey99 » Sat Nov 26, 2022 11:32 pm

Good evening everyone,

I have a 2.4 100ps 08 mk7 transit I use for my mobile mechanic business. It is slow as a slug especially up hills. I am interested in converting it to the 3.2 and wondering if anyone has done it and what I would need to do? I know I’ll need the engine, box, gear cables, front end and wiring loom and possibly the ecu but I’m not 100%.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Have a look in the members projects section, 'Agent Orange' by Martynx and there are probably others.
mk7 08reg 2.4 T350 LWB MHR RWD
mk6 X reg 2.4 T350 LWB MHR RWD - scrapped
mk4 J reg 2.5 L300 LWB MHR RWD - sold on

Notice a trend there ? not too big and not too small

Can indeed be done, gearbox and shift cables etc should be the same....But the 100 is a 5 speed....the 3.2 was originally a 6 speed....should still work though. Obviously the 5 cyl engine is longer than the 4 cyl and all the front end gubbins will need sorting. As mentioned Martyn "Vantuner" has done it.

Possible...but will be major surgery with nothing left of the Mk6 engine bay gubbins.

Your better getting a full Mk7 3.2 and grafting it into a Mk6

Possibly easiest way to do a mk7 conversation too.

It's been done before by others but think Agent Orange is the best documented.

As a side note you may have to factor in having the 3.2 rebuilt as the are prone to blowing between cylinders and require the block to be skimmed to rectify.
