oil leak

need help before i go insane .i have a 2011 fwd 2.2 and i had an oil leak only on start up from being left overnight and only about half a cup full then it would stop.i fitted a new oil cooler with spin on oil filter now it is blowing the seal out of the oil filter any ideas

From experience with other engines you either have not fitted the canister filter tightly enough or your oil pressure relief valve is stuck closed.
mk7 08reg 2.4 T350 LWB MHR RWD

Notice a trend there ? not too big and not too small

i refitted the oil canister real tight and it did the same thing.where is the relief valve located please

The oil pressure relief valve is on the oil pump, so inside the sump.

There are other possible causes but only oil that has thicked or was too thick to start with could be fixed without removing parts.

EDIT:
Keep this to one thread please so that people can see what advise has already been offered.

If you read all of the thread viewtopic.php?f=5&t=198405 then you know over use or in-appropriate use of sealant can block oil ways.

You would also then already know the relief valve is on the oil pump.

oil pump and strainer are new and the oil cooler

A new component is not necessarily functional and can still jam.

The correct oil is 5W-30 to ford spec WSS-M2C913A
