Hey all,
So I've had an issue for a while with the van either cutting out, or attempting to cut out, with a momentary complete loss of revs and all the dash lights come on for a few seconds, then back to normal. SCV has been done, PRV working fine, all the learns have been done (so lets not suggest I do that please). I have no error codes associated with this issue.
Yesterday when driving the van went crazy, doing its attempt to cut out about 6 times in a row, rev counting bouncing up and down, van going along at 30mph with the clutch pressed in, dash lights coming on and going off like mad. Eventually when it stopped the engine management light was on and stayed on for the remainder of the 50 mile journey home. I plugged it in and read the codes on forscan as soon as I got home, hoping to finally find a code associated with this cutting out issue, giving me some indication of the cause of the issue I've been having, but weirdly the MIL was on for C004A - Brake lining wear sensor 13 - circuit open. I reset the codes and it's come back, but the light is no longer on.
Are these linked in any possible way? Any suggestions to what on earth could be going on? Or anything I can do to try and figure it out.
If you look at my previous posts you'll see a huge spike in actual fuel rail pressure when the van does its weird cut out thing, and a small spike in desired fuel pressure, along with an increase in the SCV voltage. I'm assuming this points to the cutting out being fuel pressure related, but with new SCV and a working PRV, and all the learns done multiple times successfully, is there something else that's causing this spike in fuel pressure that isn't the PRV and SCV? I don't really want to go through another £400 spend for genuine PRV and SCV just to guess it might fix the issue.
Long shot I know but any suggestions at this point are very welcome.
