2.2 tdci rocker cover breather

2.2 euro 5 2012. Can anyone tell me if the pipe from the rocker cover breather is controlled by a valve. Are you able to blow and suck through the pipe?

There are spears to be a set of orange one way rubber valves on the underside of it

These have been found as fallen out when people take the cover off ...so the only way to find out if they are still there and in position and doing job is to take the cover off.

Mark i purchased a cheap (mistake) rocker cover and fitted it. After a few miles the dip stick blew out releasing cc pressure. Removed the rocker cover dismantled the diaphragm and found the port integral to the diaphragm did not exist (it had not been machined during manufacture). Therefor not allowing it to breathe. Note! (anyone purchasing one of these rocker covers should check it before fitting). 2 of the 3 small bleed off (drain)valves which you mention were missing from my original rocker cover. I intend fitting the 3 new orange/brown coloured rubbers to my original rocker cover and refitting the original cover. Regards Eric. ps I received a full refund for the faulty rocker cover and was told not to bother returning it. This makes me think the seller possibly new some of these cheap rocker covers are faulty.

That depends on what year your van is and if euro4 or euro5.

Drawings of them on the parts lists, are a bit vague to determine this .

CAUTION - ebay sellers put both part numbers in to get you to look at them

But as i said ..euro5 has orange rubber things on the underside of it
euro4 a different design..no orange rubbers

You'll see on ebay when you look at the different pictures within the listings

Another problem with the part numbers is you have two categories for 2000 - 2006 years

Transit FY 2000 - 2006

and

Transit GY (Turkey) 2000 - 2006
