Hi guy I'm wondering if anyone can help, I have a bad oil leak on my mk7, could this be cause by the rocker cover gasket? Or would this only be a minor leak from the rocker cover. It doesn't leak much when it's been sat for a while only really when it's running, I have attached some photos cheers

It certainly can, as can the cam cover / rocker gasket, the cover itself, injector seals so on.

Best thing to do is get it all cleaned down, then you can keep an eye on where its escaping from. If not already obvious. Is the top of the cover wet ? Is it “breathing” heavy from the filler cap when removed ?

Iv used non genuine covers no problem, but cover gaskets iv always used genuine ford. The cheap gaskets are in my experience a hassle/ incorrect size / deformed etc. never again.

Goes without saying, keep an eye on your oil level meanwhile.

Cheers

EGR shouldn't have oil going through it....and it has oil all over the top of the engine running down.

Holy fook that's a lot of oil, think injector seals are well fook, if it was just that top corner the oil filler neck seal is common but it's over the whole top, you'll start getting alternator problems with oil contamination on it brushes and starter motor won't be far behind it as well
