Mk 7 transit engine wiring harness. Help needed

Postby l200lc2 » Sat Mar 22, 2025 7:24 pm

Afternoon ladies and gents.

I bought a 2010 2.4 rwd box van (non runner)

How can I find out which exact engine wiring harness the van should be fitted with.

The engine has been changed but I suspect the engine was from a fwd van and the wiring harness might not be the correct one which is causing me a major pain in the ar$e. Any help would be greatly recieved.

Many thanks
Lee

The fwd and RWD are physically different.
FWD vacuum pump is on the back of cylinder head and is direct driven from cam shaft.
RWD sits on top of water pump and is belt driven
And think the block is missing side engine mount bolt points.
And FWD were only 2.2 not 2.4

It may be a Euro5 2.2 that's tried to be fitted?
Put up a pic of the engine especially injectors and inlet manifold area and we should be able to tell you if it's a Euro 4 or 5

forscan says is definitely a 2.4 so i must have got that bit wrong but ebay lists loads of different variants for rwd engines.

how can i confirm i have the correct wiring harness?

Forscan is just reading the PCM so all depends if that's been swapped with the engine.

It's hard to say exactly what harness you need without seeing things, if you can take pictures of the bits you're unsure of we can probably identify and provide help better.

Mk7 Euro-4 2.2 and 2.4 engines are vastly different. Mk7 Euro-4 2.4 only came in three variants, 100, 115, & 140. The 100 and 115 engines are near identical, the only difference is the 115 came from the factory with a 6 speed gearbox and the PCM mapping is different. The 140 is quite different, different injectors, 6 speed, two oil filters and electronic VNT turbo. You need to find out which you have as the engine harness is quite different. Can you take a photo of the engine for us..??

I think microfiche went out well before these vans were even in production.
If you want specific info like that your best to go into ford and start chatting up the parts guy.
But even at that there's no guarantee they're Gona find the right part.

Last microfiche I used was as an apprentice and finished at that place in 96.
Never seen them since other than as collectables

The fuse box doesn't have the wiring to the fuse box for the heater relay for the dpf filter but a dpf is fitted.

Those photos show a Mk7 2.4 and is Euro-4, they don't have a DPF, it also has the electronic turbo but no centrifugal oil filter in the rocker cover....so must have the later 10L sump....there were some very rare Mk7 Euro-4's that did have a DPF but they were usually restricted to government/fleet vehicles, it was a factory option from ~2008-ish....nobody in their right mind would want one though.

What makes you think it has a DPF..?? Can't see one in any of your pics.
