A. Pillar trims

Postby DanMK7uk » Sat Apr 19, 2025 9:30 pm

Just a quick one. Today i went to remove my a pillar trims, ordered the clips prior, 4 black and 4 white as per my other van needed. 2 of each colour both sides.

On van in question my high top, they seem to use 4 white clips either side. So obviously iv ordered more to be able to do the other side as id used all 4 white clips on one side.

Out of interest is this a high top thing where they are all white ? The black clips would not fit atall. Had me stumped.

Iv also added a small dob of sealant behind the foam gaskets.

Iv recently got this van and to no surprise the carpets were wet so they are pulled up drying out and small amount of rust bare metalled and coated. Primarily under the plastic step Good job I checked really. Had the same on my other van what a daft idea those clips are asking for ingress, threaded receivers and 4 bolts would of been better and a cover cap like on the mirror housings.

Cheers

FWIW I've just replaced the upper 3 on the drivers side of mine (Mk7, hi-top) with all black - being ignorant about the difference I realised after bashing them in that they were too long and just snipped the end of them off.

One black and two white came off. I couldn't get the bottom one to disengage at all so left that.

Seemed to work fine, but I may order some white ones now :)

At the age these vans are at, most would of had new screens now, so who knows what was original or not lol
