Hi. I have a Mk7 transit 140 T350 FWD 2198cc Euro5.
When driving there is a slight fumey/exhaust/diesel type smell (difficult to describe, I think that's what it smells like) in the cab. Also when driving steady no noticeable smoke out the exhaust however when say sat still and then reving it there is quite a bit of white/blue smoke out the exhaust, the same when reversing up my drive where I am on and off the accelerator.
I have had the van at a ford garage recently as I noticed the coolant level dropping slightly so a pressure test was done and found the head gasket to be ok but was leaking from the oil cooler so this was sorted and that's now ok.
Just to be clear the smoke out the exhaust problem was there before the coolant issue.
Could there be an issue with the egr valve? Searching through this forum brings the egr valve up quite often. I know people say it should cleaned as part of a routine service but obviously this is not done if you take the van to a garage to be serviced.
Also no fault codes present. The last time I took the van out the engine management light came on but when I got home I checked with forscan and no fault codes present. Restarted the van and the engine management light had gone off.
