Mk7 2013 FWD 6spd Reverse Switch

Evening all,

Just need some clarification. It turns out that I have an intermittent issue with my reverse lights. First port of call is to replace the reverse switch. I’ve done some research but get conflicting results. Some say its on the side or back of the gearbox, others say its a white box type thing by the selector cables on the top. I’ve found neither but there is a sensor on the top which I’m assuming it is:-

I had a good look on Catcar and they list two 6spd boxes. Annoyingly the part numbers are one digit apart (1805255 & 1805256). From the picture it seems I have 1805256 but according to Fords the 1805255 fits. I did ask which one but they never provide any details

I’ve ordered both just incase. At £23each from Fords on ebay I’d rather not have to wait for delivery incase its wrong. Especially since my parking sensors are being uncooperative which I’m assuming is down to the faulty reverse switch.

Well it was 1805255. The difference was the threaded end and the length of said end was longer.

Now got the 1805256 on ebay for less than I bought it, hopefully someone will buy it lol
